NLT Receives $10K Education Grant from AT&T
Preparing for New Gate at Farm Creek October, 2011 - NLT Advisory Board Member Miki Alicastro is overseeing the repair of the stone pillars at Farm Creek Preserve in anticipation of the installation of a new gate which will be a replica of the original gate on the property prior to the destruction of the "Hart Castle" in the early 1970's. Rowayton resident Glenn Syska has supplied photos of the original gate from his archives from which the new gate will be designed. Stay tuned...

For more info go to www.ctfriendsschool.com Norwalk Land Trust Receives $2500 Grant From CL&P January, 2011 - Norwalk Land Trust President D. Seeley Hubbard (left) accepting a $2,500 stewardship grant from Chris Swan, Director of Municipal Relations, Connecticut Light and Power Company. The money will be used to help fund clean-up efforts on an 18-acre parcel currently owned by the City, known as the Crossland Property, through which runs Betts Brook. 
Norwalk Land Trust Acquires 12 1/2 Allen Road December, 2010 - Norwalk residents Frank Canevari and Venke Vey donated a .94 acre parcel of land on Allen Road to the Norwalk Land Trust in December, 2010. The property consists of a meadow and woodlands, with Betts Brook running through it on its way to Woods Pond. 
Norwalk Land Trust Acquires 34 Sammis Street The Norwalk Common Council granted the Norwalk Land Trust $155,000 to pay off mortgage on 34 Sammis Street. The $5K raised will be matched $1 for $2 by the Tombros Foundation, and will be used for improvements to the property, including the restoration of an antique barn for an environmental education center. An article about the fund-raiser is in the November-December Issue of the New Canaan, Darien and Rowayton Magazine, on sale at newstands now.
